Jeffrey H. Chen, MD, FACS
Originally from Toronto Canada, Dr. Jeffrey Chen has 22 years of clinical experience. He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and then went on to receive a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Chenreceived his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now known as Drexel College of Medicine) in Philadelphia where he also completed his general surgery residency. He is board certified in General Surgery and also a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. His interests include all aspects of general surgery with a special emphasis on robotic/minimally invasive surgery.
Michael Allard, DO
Originally from California, Dr. Allard completed a BA in history from UC Santa Barbara. His interest changed to the medical field, and he graduated from San Francisco State University with a BS in microbiology. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathy from Andrew Taylor Still University, Mesa AZ campus, and he spent three years of medical school training on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. He moved to New Jersey and completed his general surgical residency at Rowan University prior to working at Hunterdon Surgical Associates.
Martin P. Alvarez, MD
Dr. Alvarez is a general and colorectal surgeon at Hunterdon Surgical Associates in Flemington, NJ. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University. Dr. Alvarez earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. His surgical training includes a general surgery internship at Temple University Hospital, a general surgery residency at Abington Memorial Hospital, and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Lehigh Valley Health Network. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Alvarez strives to provide effective and compassionate care with a focus on improving patient outcomes. He is trained in minimally invasive surgery and routinely performs laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
Jaclyn Malat, DO
Dr. Jaclyn Malat is a Minimally Invasive General and Colorectal Surgeon. She believes in patient-centered care, emphasizing close communication and a team-based approach with all providers. She earned her undergraduate degree from Franklin & Marshall College and graduated from medical school and General Surgery Residency from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Malat extended her training with a Robotics Fellowship focused on Colorectal Surgery at Florida Surgical Specialists. Her 10 years of training and specialization in minimally invasive robotic surgery allow her to deliver exceptional care with state-of-the-art technology that improves patient outcomes and decreases recovery times. Dr. Malat is happy to return to her home state to provide care focusing on patient education, patient advocacy, and a holistic approach to health care. Dr. Malat is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgeons.
